We’ve heard Buenos Aires referred to several times as the Paris of South America. Today we took a free tour and you’ll see that many of the images below do show how European parts of this city really are.

Congress Building

Arches, some in disrepair.

Can't remember what this building was ... other than ornate. 🙁

Pigeons in a public square ... an image repeated around the world.

Blocks of European-styled buildings around the center of government in BA.

Jacaranda trees are just starting to bloom here for spring. Buenos Aires' Catholic cathedral is the building behind the tree with the columns.

25th of May Monument

Our tour guide, Gaston, with the tour group.

The Pink Palace -- the President's office building.

Avenida Florida is a busy pedestrian street in central BA.

Check out the house built ON TOP of the building!

Avenida 9 July ... the widest street in the city, modeled after the Champs Elysee in Paris.

Obelisk dating to the 1930s that commemorated the 400th anniversary of Beunos Aires' founding.

After the free tour, we came back to the Palermo area and visited several galleries, trying to find something for our house. We found something!

Posing alongside our new piece of art with the artist, Adriana Bozzi ... quite an enchanting and friendly woman. We spent quite awhile with her.

Adriana signs the piece, again. Her first signature was so low on the piece that it would probably be covered when the piece is matted/framed.
