On our last full day in Toronto we took the short ferry ride out to a string of islands in Lake Ontario. With rented bikes, we explored the trails through the park that extends across the interconnected chain of islands and picnicked along the lake looking back at downtown Toronto.
After riding a bit further, we came to a short bridge to Algonquin Island and crossed over to an area home to year-round residents. It was quite an interesting little neighborhood …
And the houses have quite a view …
Picnic tables in front of the homes and alongside the lake made a perfect spot for a game of cribbage (which Clint came from behind to claim) …
Back on the mainland and bikes returned to the rental spot, we explored the city one last time, leisurely on foot and ended the night at a local pizza restaurant close to our B&B. Tomorrow night we’re on a flight back to the States and back to our normal lives and routines … which is fine by us, really. We’ve enjoyed seeing all there is to see here, but it is always nice to return home.
