After a month in Vancouver, we’re home. We’re feeling a little “home sick” in a way … missing Vancouver. It is definitely a magical place and appeals to us both … in similar and different ways. We love Palm Springs and we know the weather here is better, on the whole, here than it is in Vancouver, but we don’t have any reason to doubt why Vancouver was ranked as one of the top places in the world to live.

One of the things I was doing each day in Vancouver was swimming laps. Today, both Clint and I visited the Palm Springs Swim Center … a public lap pool here that neither of us had ever visited. What a great facility! We had a great time swimming laps together under the bright desert sun. We then went to investigate purchasing a bike (because we enjoyed biking in Vancouver so much and know we would enjoy it here, too), but the bike shop was closed … like so many other thing in the desert in July and August.

Coming back to the desert also includes getting to see Clint’s mom, Mary. We had a great dinner out with her on Saturday night and then a fun game of cribbage (I won! :)).

We’re not home for long. We have a trip to San Jose coming up soon (business for me, but we’re both going and will see friends) and then we’re tacking on a trip to Sonoma to visit Cully & Terri.
