Lordy, lordy it is hot and humid here in Vancouver. It’s odd that we find ourselves actually longing to be back in the desert … where temperatures are actually higher … but there’s fabulous, refreshing air conditioning there. Don’t get us wrong, we have loved our time in Vancouver, but these last few days have been pretty uncomfortable.

And to prove we aren’t being wimps, click here for a story about how yesterday (Weds., July 29) was the hottest day ever in Vancouver.

So, we’ve been doing what we can to stay cool. Swimming, cool showers, and not moving too fast. We ate outside last night along the sea wall in Coal Harbour (the section of town where we are living) and then walked just a few steps to a shady spot in the grass. We enjoyed the shade, the occassional breeze off the water, and time together. We played cribbage, talked, and rested … not a bad way to beat the heat.
