I’m home after a week of traveling. We were in Sonoma for Easter weekend and then I flew to Denver on Tuesday, then drove to Vail for some meetings. The snow started to fall in Vail about a day before I needed to drive back to Denver to fly home. It was pretty …
So, this morning the snow was still coming down a bit, but the news reports were that the snow was quite bad on the highway between Vail and Denver. The drive back was treacherous and slow going. Cars and trucks were ditched all along the way, but luckily I had a 4WD vehicle that got me through the mess.
I made it to the Denver airport about 8 hours early and was able to get on an earlier flight back home right away (thankfully, because the conditions worsened throughout the day and flights were cancelled and delayed). A quick hour and 3/4 flight and I was home … in near 90 degree heat with beautiful blue skies. Sometimes air travel still amazes me.
