A week in Maui has passed and we’re now in Kauai for our first day of a week. Maui provided lots of time for rest, relaxation, snorkeling, walks along the shore, and good food. Near the end of the week, Clint also found that it provided a good opportunity to ask Ryan a question. There’s nothing that unusual about that. Clint is always asking questions. But this was a new and unique question: Will you marry me? With the recent passage of same-sex marriage in Washington State and our pending purchase of a condo in Tacoma, the question-popping bug bit. Ryan readily accepted. After all, more than ten wonderful years together is more than what many others who are easily able to obtain marriage licenses can boast … and we’ve got that. This has made our vacation time all the more special, of course.

A few photo memories since our last update …

The view from the condo on Maui was always terrific.

Napili Bay in West Maui … one of Ryan’s favorite spots to snorkel. There are lots of turtles and tropical fish here.

Dinner at Mama’s Fish House on Maui. Just after dinner and desert, Clint popped the question on the beach there.

Off to Kauai! Shortly after landing, we visited Koloa, a town with a lot of local flair.

We’re in for a visual and auditory treat, again, over the next week. Our condo in Kauai is right on the ocean … beautiful views and calming surf sounds.

Yes, it is all very relaxing.
