Hej! We woke up this morning in Stockholm and are writing this from our next stop: Copenhagen, Denmark.

It was a beautiful morning in Stockholm and as we traveled to the airport we discussed how much we really enjoyed the city and how we were sorry to be leaving, yet also excited to travel to another new destination.

Neither of us has ever been to Denmark. The Scandinavian adventure continues, as you can see. And just to complete the whole Scandinavian experience, we flew Norwegian Air (it actually didn’t seem all that Norwegian … just kind of like any other airline, really).

Arriving in Copenhagen to blue skies and pleasant temps, we took the subway to our hotel, The Kong Arthur, in the city. While not as deluxe as our previous accommodations, we think we’ll find it a comfortable place to camp out for the next five nights.

This evening, we walked a couple blocks to a cute neighborhood pizzeria with outdoor seating. The place was filled with what seemed to be locals, especially families. It was fun listening to all the conversation in Danish (maybe they were talking about us and we didn’t know it!) and watching all the action going on. Immediately, we were pretty struck by how active the Danes seem to be. There are loads of bicyclists here. We watched teens come and go from the pizzeria on bikes or on foot. Not quite your typical American scene. We really enjoyed soaking in all that was around us … and yes, the pizza was very good. While pizza may not be the quintessential Danish experience, at least it is European! We topped off our little Danish Italian experience with some gelato, just to make things ‘perfetto.’ Oh, ‘perfekt’ as the local language would dictate.

Pizza in Denmark? Ja!

Gelato, please!

As the sun cast a golden tone against the multicolored buildings around the neighborhoods we strolled through we were taken with how different this city is from the last and how much we look forward to exploring more in the coming days.

Should we make an offer on it?

From the looks of it, this restaurant outfits you in pink when you dine here.
