Much of Friday was spent snorkeling and sailing off Providenciales, the island we’re staying on in Turks & Caicos. As part of the group trip, we had a catamaran rented for us.

The snorkeling was amazing! It was some of the best snorkeling we’ve ever done. With no underwater camera, though, we’ll just have to ask you to use your imagination. The reefs with tunnels in and out, the multi-colored fish with patterns almost too bizarre to imagine (we saw a fish that had argyle sides and an orange underside … that’s one example of how odd they were), spectacular looking underwater plants … it all was a spectacular underwater adventure.

On the boat and on the beaches, the camera was out and here’s a taste of the day …

The sand is like talcum powder. It is the softest sand we've ever felt.

The water's color and clarity is fantastic.

Sailing, enjoying a beer, and enjoying a day off.

A stop on the beach of Big Waters Cay ... where the sand was even softer and more fine.

Sailing back towards Grace Bay as the sun was getting low on the horizon.

Looking up at this was a great way to spend the day off. It beats looking at a computer monitor all day.

After sailing, we freshened up and had another great meal with friends. It was a truly relaxing and memorable day. We’re so very fortunate.
